the Olive ridley turtle is species that lives in tropical and subtropical water which are shallow waters, olive ridley are found  laying eggs along the shountern coast of Bali, including Kuta, Canggu Sanur  and its  surrounding as well as beaches in Klungkung district and several beaches in Karangasem district

 

The-shape of olive Ridley turtle is not much different from other types of sea turtles that have hard shells and forelimb are used for swimming, the shell of Olive ridley sea turtle doest not  have patterned motif like hats bill or green sea turtle, with  Gray scale has pseudo scale that change the color when the turtle grows up

 

The Olive Ridley Has Many Names

In Indonesia, olive ridley turtles have several names from each region or island, including gray turtle, Bibis turtle,  flower turtle 

 

Olive ridley like ton hunt shrimp, small crab and other crustaceans and gastropods and several time also eat seaweed 

 

Olive ridley turtles are found in warm water that become megration areas including the pacific, Indian Ocean and Atlantic Ocean, many of them are found laying eggs on the saunter coast of the Indonesia archipelago including souther coast of Bali.

 

Like other sea turtle cycles, Olive ridley turtle migrate and return to the beach to start the procession of lay eggs and storing them in the sand until they hatch, turtle will be choose a computable place to stop as a nesting site, on the Bali island in general the nesting season start in April to September . From journal comparisons  and observation at Turtle Conservation and Education Center ( TCEC ) the olive ridley  choose  beach  as stopover in beach area, most of them select the black sand  with black grain that have presentation of 70% iron mineral content magnetic because it contains the mineral magnetite. some of the also lay their eggs on white sand beaches.

 

On nesting season female turtle can create several nest holes and with a nesting interval of 2 to one week an average number of eggs of approximately 120 eggs per nest 

 

along with changes in coastal condition due to development, the role of conservation will be very important in protecting and socializing the existence of turtles that are sometimes found  in areas that are crowdedwxith visitor to follow up with some relocation and rescue of eggs to safer place.
